Noosa Heads is one of the Australia’s favourite and iconic surf destinations with rich surf heritage acknowledged the world over. In late 2013, a NSR Local Steering Committee (LSC) was formed under the auspices of the state and local government with Phil Jarrett, director and founder of the famed Noosa Surf Festival, elected as interim Chairman. Noosa Heads is set to become the 19th NSR in Australia in 2014. Noosa Heads encompasses five superb right-hand point breaks, all within the magnificent Noosa National Park, one of Australia’s most pristine and natural coastal settings. The Noosa Heads SLSC was founded in 1927 and Malibu surfing took off on the breaks in the 1950’s.
